Marina del Sol is an interdisciplinary scholar with a Ph.D. from the Américo Paredes Center for Cultural Studies at The University of Texas at Austin.  As a Lecturer in the English Department at Howard University, she teaches writing courses that are designed to provide students with the skill sets necessary for civic engagement and full participation in the public sphere.  Her research focuses on the ways in which language and identity interface with structures of power.
